Sarima Proveyer joined NSU’s Division of Public Relations, Marketing, and Creative Services in 2024. As the division’s digital and video content producer/writer, she is responsible for creating engaging and informative content for various online platforms and video productions that promote NSU and its offerings.
Sarima began her professional career as a film and TV editor in Havana, Cuba. She then transitioned into directing and scriptwriting. Her portfolio showcases a diverse range of content, including commercials, brand promotions, infomercials, short films, and documentaries. She has also produced multiple episodes of Lifetime’s Designing Spaces and contributed to The Balancing Act talk show.
Her talent has propelled her work onto the global stage. Her films have screened at prestigious festivals like the Bristol Film Festival and the Latin American Film Festival in Amsterdam. She has also garnered recognition at The Young Filmmakers Award in Havana, Cuba and contributed to the book, “Fields of View” published by the British Film Institute.
Seeking a creative outlet during the pandemic, Sarima developed a passion for still photography. She is drawn toward captivating still life and product photography, personalized portraits, and architectural details.
Sarima holds a Master of Arts in Filmmaking from Kingston University London and a Bachelor of Arts in Audio-Visual Communication from the University of Arts in Havana. Her filmmaking talents encompass directing, cinematography, and editing. Sarima’s education honed her storytelling abilities, integrating screenwriting techniques and script development to craft impactful narratives.
Sarima is a member of the Women’s Independent Collective Films Network. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga and meditation, visiting art galleries, gardening, designing stationery, and listening to political and cultural podcasts.
