At Nova Southeastern University, we believe caring for your mental health is as important as your physical well-being. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of behavioral health benefits to support you through life's challenges—whether you're managing stress, anxiety, or a more complex condition. From in-person counseling to virtual care, our benefits help you prioritize your mental wellness.
Aetna behavioral health benefits are not available for employees in Puerto Rico or the American territories.
Behavioral health and substance abuse services are covered by your Aetna medical insurance but are managed separately from your regular medical benefits. When seeking care, be sure to use your Aetna card, as your BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) card will not be accepted for these services.
When Will Benefits Be Active?
Behavioral health benefits are activated on the Tuesday or Thursday following your new hire enrollment or once a life event is approved by Human Resources.
What This Means for You
If your life event is approved on a Friday, Aetna will process the update by Tuesday, and your benefits will be active by Wednesday. (Coverage depends on the documentation submitted for your life event).
Deductible and Out-of-Pocket Maximum is shared with your BCBS Medical Plan Benefits
