Welcome to the Nova Southeastern University Genomics Core Facility (NSU GCF). Our goal is to provide NSU investigators, as well as external investigators, access to sophisticated methodologies in genomics including, but not limited to, Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS) and multiplexed digital profiling of single target molecules using NanoString's nCounter technology. We ensure high quality data using highly stringent quality control (QC) metrics.
The critical objectives of the NSU GCF are:
The Genomics Core Facility occupies approximately 900 square feet of space on the fourth floor of the Center for Collaborative Research (CCR) building on the Davie campus of Nova Southeastern University. The core operates and maintains an Illumina NextSeq 2000 Sequencing System, a Roche LightCycler 480 Instrument II, an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer and 4200 Tapestation, a Covaris E220 Focused-ultrasonicator, a Qubit 3.0, a Thermo Scientific NanoDrop OneC , NanoDrop 3300, and NanoDrop 8000. The core also maintains a PCR suite open to NSU faculty, staff and students that contains three PCR workstation hoods, four Eppendorf Nexus Gradient PCR machines, a Thermo Scientific NanoDrop OneC, and full sets of single and multi-channel pipettes.
