We’re excited about your interest in joining our team at Nova Southeastern University! The Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement serves to provide students with opportunities for engagement that focus on understanding leadership style and promoting active citizenship.
The office is supported by two full time professional staff members, four graduate assistants and numerous undergraduate student employees. These graduate assistantships are typically filled during our Graduate Recruitment process each year in January-March for Fall placement. Students enrolled in the Master of Science in College Student Affairs Program are given priority in these positions.
Primary Purpose:
The Graduate Assistant for Service Initiatives will identify, promote, coordinate, and build student interest and engagement regarding community service activities. The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant is to identify, promote, coordinate, and build student interest regarding campus-based and community service projects in the Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties, as well as domestic and international service sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include recruitment, management, and ongoing support of the alternative break program. Specific initiatives outlined below.

The office is also supported by a staff of student Program Assistants. The main functions of these positions are to support general office functions in the physical office as well as on site at our program offerings. Recruitment for these positions typically occurs in the spring/summer for fall employment but note that positions are available on a rolling basis as office needs become available.
Primary Purpose:
The Leadership & Civic Engagement Program Assistant is a student staff member of the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. Student staff members provide general clerical and office support, answer and direct telephone inquiries, greet visitors, respond to questions and support departmental marketing for the office.
