Internships give students the opportunities to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths, as well as giving employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent. A typical internship is anywhere from 3 months to 6 months and can be offered as a paid or unpaid opportunity. In many cases, students may also receive credits toward their academic program. Handshake is our online recruitment portal for NSU students seeking opportunities to access job or internship listings. Recruiters are encouraged to post internships, as well as professional full- and part-time jobs at no charge.

  1. Go to Handshake and select Sign up from an Account. 
  2. Select the Employer account type from the option presented. 
  3. Fill out the information request then click Sign Up.
  4. You will be taken to a confirmation page and you will shortly (within 5 –10 minutes) receive a confirmation e-mail with a link enabling you to confirm your account.
  5. You must click this link before you can proceed with the registration process.
  6. During the registration process make sure to connect with Nova Southeastern University.
  7. If you need additional assistance with the Handshake process, please contact Johnny Kevorkian (jk1147@nova.edu)
  8. Develop a job description for internship opportunities and post on Handshake Platform.
  9. Once a student is selected for an internship, provide an offer letter to student outlining condition of offer.
  10. Contact NSU Center for Academic and Professional Success at (954) 262-7990 or e-mail caps@nova.edu to schedule a meeting with a member of the Employer Relations staff.
