New Student Information

Welcome to Nova Southeastern University!

On behalf of the Center for Academic and Professional Success, we would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to Nova Southeastern University (NSU)! We are excited to help you start your journey as an NSU Shark. To make sure you have a smooth transition into your undergraduate studies, please follow the instructions below carefully.

1. Complete the Admissions Process

Ensure that your student record is up to date. Work with your Admissions Counselor to confirm that you have submitted all required test scores and transcripts.

• Enrollment Deposit: Have you submitted your enrollment deposit? If not, you can do so at http://nova.edu/deposit.
• Need Clarification? If you are unsure about any part of the admissions process, reach out to your Admissions Counselor for assistance.

2. Complete the New Student Canvas Course

There's an online course designed to provide you with all the important information for your next steps as a new Shark. You can complete this course at your own pace. After finishing, you’ll be able to schedule a group registration session with a CAPS Advisor, who will help you register for your first semester.

How to Access the Course:

1. Check Your NSU Email: Look for an email from Canvas (the learning management system we use at NSU) inviting you to the New Student Information Course. Click the link in that email.
2. Access Canvas Directly: Log into Canvas directly and search for the New Student Information Session.

•  If it's your first time logging in, you’ll see an invitation at the top of your screen.
• If you don’t see the New Student Information Session, keep in mind that it can take 24-48 hours to process your deposit. You’ll be automatically enrolled in the session after that time. If it has been more than 48 hours since you paid your deposit or if you have questions, contact your Admissions Counselor.

3. Schedule Your Group Registration Appointment

Once you complete the New Student Canvas Course, you’ll find instructions to schedule a virtual group registration session with a CAPS Advisor. The final module of the course will provide several options for dates and times available for registration. During this session, you will officially register for your first semester as an NSU Shark!

By completing these steps, you’re paving the way for a successful start to your first semester as a Shark. Welcome aboard, and we can’t wait to see you dive in, fins first!
