NSU Yellow Ribbon Scholarship

Maximize Your Education Benefits

Nova Southeastern University is proud to partner with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the Yellow Ribbon Program, supporting veterans in achieving their educational goals. 

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

  • Veterans who qualify for the 100% benefit rate under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® and are eligible for increased benefits under the Yellow Ribbon Program.
  • Veterans enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, first professional, or doctoral programs at NSU.
Note: Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship recipients are considered an extension of Chapter 33, but are not eligible for this scholarship.

What are the Benefits?

NSU contributes scholarship funds to help bridge the gap between the VA's contribution and the total cost of tuition for: 

  • Undergraduate Programs: Up to $17,000 per year (includes $8,500 from NSU and the VA match)
  • Graduate Programs: Up to $17,000 per year (includes $8,500 from NSU and the VA match)
  • Doctoral/First Professional Programs: Up to $4,000 per year (includes $2,000 from NSU and the VA match) 
Note: The combined amounts (the NSU contribution and the VA match) may not exceed the cost of tuition charges.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

  1. Ensure you have a SharkLink ID and password. 
  2. Apply online through the NSU Financial Aid portal.

NSU is now accepting applications. Awarded students will receive an NSU FInancial Aid Award Notice through NSU email.

Automatic Scholarship Renewal

NSU students who have received an NSU Yellow Ribbon Scholarship and continue to maintain eligibility do not need to submit a new NSU Yellow Ribbon Scholarship Application. Their NSU Yellow Ribbon Scholarship will be renewed automatically for the same academic level (and center, if applicable).

Eligibility for renewal is determined by the following factors:

  • Student must have remaining entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
  • Student must remain in good academic standing.
  • Student must not have withdrawn during the previous academic year.
