Nova Southeastern University is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its community members. To achieve this goal, NSU has developed a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) that outlines a strategic approach to emergency management.

This CEMP addresses all phases of emergency management, including:

• Mitigation: Identifying and reducing risks through prevention and protection measures.
• Preparedness: Developing plans and procedures to respond effectively to emergencies.
• Response: Implementing coordinated actions to minimize the impact of emergencies.
• Recovery: Restoring essential services and rebuilding infrastructure after an emergency.

All NSU community members, including faculty, staff, and students, are encouraged to:

• Understand their roles and responsibilities: Familiarize themselves with the CEMP, ERG, and relevant campus and unit emergency plans.
• Complete required training and participate in exercises.
• Consider National Incident Management System (NIMS) training: Enhance emergency management skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to emergency management efforts: Actively participate in drills, exercises, and planning activities.
