Description: Have you heard the term “white fragility” and wondered what it means? It’s a term coined by author Robin DiAngelo. She has developed an explanation for why it’s so hard for white people to talk about racism and why many white people respond the way they do to the topic. In this discussion, I’ll share some of the key ideas of DiAngelo’s theory and you can see what you think about it. I’ll also share some insights based on my work in conflict resolution about what could help white people engage in constructive conversation about racism.
