NSU Payment Policy

We understand that managing your finances while pursuing your education can be overwhelming. Our goal is to make the payment process as seamless as possible. Below, you'll find important information about Nova Southeastern University's payment policies, various payment options, and resources to assist you throughout your payment journey.

At-a-Glance

Commitment: By registering for courses at NSU, students accept financial responsibility for tuition and associated fees. The student is responsible for the full balance on the account plus any additional costs which may be incurred by the university in the collection of these debts.

  • Payment is due in full at the time of registration for graduate and professional students. Undergraduate institutional charges; including tuition, fees, and housing, if applicable; must be paid in full or satisfied with payment arrangements by August 1 (for the fall semester) and December 1 (for the winter semester).

  • Payment Options: Choose from paying in full at registration, utilizing financial aid, or using payment plans. Check your account status in SharkLink.

Billing: NSU eBill notifications are sent in the middle of each month. Pay promptly to avoid late fees.

Balances: Resolve any outstanding debts to ensure seamless registration for upcoming semesters. Failure to clear balances within 30 days results in a hold and incurs a $100 late fee.

Financial Holds and Collections

We understand the importance of addressing outstanding balances promptly. Here's how we can help you navigate financial holds and collections:

  • Financial Holds: Student accounts may have various holds placed on them due to outstanding balances, such as Diploma Holds, Bursar Holds, Late Payment Holds, Declined Payment Holds, and Collections Holds.
    • NSU assesses a $25 declined payment fee for each declined payment, including installment payments that are part of a payment plan and payments made by check or credit card. A declined payment hold is placed on the account until the declined payment and assessed fee have been paid.

  • Collections: The Collections Department is dedicated to managing past-due student accounts, working diligently to resolve outstanding balances and prevent escalation to third-party agencies. Students can avoid their accounts being escalated to a third-party agency by paying the balance in full or setting up a payment arrangement.
