Harry K. Moon, M.D., FACS, FRCSEd, is the seventh president of Nova Southeastern University, a nationally recognized private, doctoral research university. The university has a $5 billion annual economic impact on the state of Florida and continues to grow with a focus on graduate and professional education and workforce development, innovative academic and research programs, and an integrated health care network delivered across its nine campuses in Florida, Colorado, and Puerto Rico. The university anticipates achieving Carnegie Classification R1 status in 2025 as a first-tier research institution, a major milestone in the growth and development of its research enterprise.
The NSU Shark family includes more than 216,000 alumni around the world and more than 22,000 students at its PreK-12 University School as well as its across its undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs.
Presidential Investiture
The investiture ceremony for Harry K. Moon, M.D., FACS, FRCSEd, the seventh president and chief executive officer of Nova Southeastern University, will be on January 31, 2025. Dr. Moon was NSU’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 2018 to 2024.
This presidential transition marks the official beginning of a new chapter in the university’s history. The event will celebrate NSU’s rich legacy while looking forward to a future filled with great promise.

Induction into Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
Dr. Moon was named a Fellow ad hominem of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in fall of 2024. The Royal College, founded five centuries ago, is the oldest surgical college in the world and has nearly 32,000 members in 140 countries.
Calling his induction "the honor of a lifetime," Dr. Moon reiterated his commitment to healing and helping people. “For me, the greatest joy of medicine is taking care of the patient,” he said. “Second is the joy of expanding the perspective and horizons of young surgeons still forging their paths forward.”

The President's 64
The President’s 64, named for NSU’s founding year of 1964, is an elite group of student leaders who are charged with strengthening the relationship between NSU and its community. Representing all segments of NSU’s diverse student population, the group’s membership consists of 64 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who are nominated and selected for their positions.
